Relevant tips for Amazon sellers in 2019
To avoid getting reviews blocked or removed by Amazon, you should not do the things below at all costs.
In its attempt to keep the marketplace as competitive as possible while safeguarding the buyer rights, Amazon forbids sellers to review their own products or have them reviewed by family or friends, as feedback and rating from them could be biased.
Amazon removes all suspicious reviews immediately, but that’s not the worst case scenario. In the case of repeat removals of reviews, your seller account may be banned, which could mean a serious loss of money.
To avoid getting reviews blocked or removed, avoid doing things listed below at all costs.
-
Do not get reviews from people in your city
While the world is small and people from your city could buy your products without even knowing who’s the seller, Amazon will usually look with suspicion at such reviews. So, when approaching your clients to ask for a review or in your attempts to get it from elsewhere, avoid anyone who lives in the same city as you.
-
Do not get reviews from people with the same surname
Coincidences happen, especially if you have a common surname. However, Amazon will believe it’s your relative and will remove the review.
-
Do not get reviews from people who use the same Wi-Fi connection
Everything that happens on the internet can be tracked, including the Wi-Fi connection or device IP from where your products are inserted, and your reviews are written.
It’s pretty self-explanatory, therefore, why you shouldn’t ask anyone who shares your Wi-Fi connection to review your products.
-
Do not get reviews from people who are your friends on social media
We all have a few people we don’t really know among our social media friends; however, Amazon can’t check what relationship you have with those persons.
So, never ask for any of your Facebook or Instagram friends to submit a review. If you really want to do it, unfriend them first, and then ask.
